Start with the actual message
“App not installed,” “problem parsing the package” and a harmful-app warning are different situations. Record the message, file source and device version. Avoid trying several unrelated installers before you know what is failing.
Common causes and next checks
| Incomplete transfer | Download the file again from the chosen publisher source. |
|---|---|
| Storage pressure | Allow room for installation and additional app data. |
| Unsupported Android or architecture | Compare the requirement for the exact package build. |
| Split package or XAPK | Use the publisher-supported method for that delivery format. |
| Conflicting update signature | Preserve account recovery and check publisher update instructions. |
| Harmful-app warning | Stop and resolve the warning through a trusted publisher source. |
An existing installation can change the diagnosis
If a previous version is installed, compare its identity with the file you downloaded. A different signing identity can block replacement. Uninstalling may make the installer proceed while losing app data, so establish the recovery route first.
What to include in a support report
Provide the device model, Android version, app version, chosen source and exact error text. A file name alone is often insufficient to identify a build. Keep account credentials out of the report.
